Passing through country with Bob Collard of Laverton/ Leonora WA:
Ngaanyatjarra country
Article by Stephen Scourfield 2014 as he travelled the Great Central Road, he met with Warren Lloyd of Yamarna Station who had been on the Central Safari tag-along with Bob in 1973.
And notes 'Frank Hann: 25 expeditions between 1895 and 1908, named more than 500 WA geographical features.
On six expeditions between 1903 and 1908, Hann worked the route between Laverton and Warburton, looking for an ever-improved alignment between water holes, avoiding dune crossings. But his work on this, with Aboriginal companion Talbot, only began when he was 58, after a cattle tick outbreak in 1895 ended his successful career as a cattleman in Queensland. His travels are recorded, in his own diaries, in the book Do Not Yield to Despair.'
